2014…a new year a new Wrenn Bird Photography | Manhattan KS Photographer

Well I finally did it…I made the leap to full time photographer. Scary, but oh so exciting! I have some great things planned for this year and keeping up with my blog is numeral uno on the list! So to kick off the blogging I want to share a little of what has been going on in our lives the last three months!

We became parents in October. Leopoldo Arturo Pacheco V was born on the 19th of October. We call him Leo for short, because that sure is a big name for a little guy! 🙂 Leo was born three weeks early and weighed in at a whopping 4 lbs 10 oz. However, he was a scrappy little thing and started eating and gaining right away! We are blessed beyond measures to have a healthy and happy baby! I am loving being a Momma to Leo and am having so much fun! If you follow me on Instagram you have seen a daily post of Leo…yes I am one of those mothers! 🙂 You can find me there at wrennpacheco if you want a daily photo.

The day we brought Leo home…He was so tiny!

All dressed up to go help Daddy feed the horses, you know you have to have your Stormy Kromer hat and wild rag to stay warm!

Arturo graduated with his PhD from Kansas State University in December! He accepted a job in August a consulting nutritionist for Cow-Calf producers and is loving it!

I love this picture of Arturo and his Mom…You can just feel the love and pride that she has for him!

We also baptized our sweet boy in December and celebrated with our family!

In addition to all of this we took our annual trip to New Mexico to visit Arturo’s family for Christmas. As always we had a blast and it was so much fun making great memories with Leo.

So needless to say we have had a busy last couple of months with lots of major life changes! I am excited what 2014 has in store for us as a family of three and for my business. I not only get to be a full time photographer but I also get to be a stay at home Momma and that excites me the most! So here is to new challenges of balancing it all!

Since I have not blogged in months I am going to take some time to catch up…so you will be seeing post of beautiful weddings that I shot in 2013 and some adorable families and kiddos. So stay tuned!

I am a Runner | Part II

Week before last I wrote about my “healthy tipping point”, you can check it out here, well last week I failed to update you on my progress. In fact I failed to stick to my pack, but I was sick, so I feel I had a bit of an excuse. I don’t know if it was an excuse enough to eat almost a whole box of cookies and a real Coke all in one afternoon. 🙂 Oh well we all slip up at one point or another. However, so far this week has been better. I ate pretty good yesterday. I had an apple instead of candy, which is huge and I have all ready run six miles so far this week. So all in all a much better week.

In my first post I stated that I was going to train for a 1/2 marathon for this winter…well this is my first week of training. The 1/2 marathon is January 15th and is the Topeka to Auburn run. Yes, it could be brutally cold, but you know I need something to kick me into gear and I think this just might be it. Plus it is going to push me to run through the holidays, which I always need. 🙂

Oh and an update on the weight-loss goal…I am sad to say I have not lost any weight or inches, but not have gained any. So I would say that is not too bad since I was so bad last week! 🙂

Until next time…have a great day!

Arturo and I after the marathon. Next week I will talk about the Beef Endurance team I am part of! Have a great week!
